White Team HEAD COACH: TURINA BAKKEN Turina Bakken was born in Minnesota came to Madison to attend the University of Wisconsin, while attending school here she played for the original UW club team. A defenseman by trade she is a very talented all around player. Was an assistant coach for 1 year with the Freeze before becoming the head coach. During the 2006-2007 season Blue Team: HEAD COACH: AARON BOTTJEN Aaron Bottjen has coached women's hockey for 10 seasons. Aaron started coaching in the 1996-97 season as an assistant coach for the Madison Thunder. During the next season he was Co-Head Coach, taking on defensive and goalie responsibilities. Aaron assumed full Head Coaching duties during the 2000-01 hockey season. He left the Thunder after the 2003-04 season. After taking a season off, Aaron began his 9th season coaching, joining the Madison Freeze as Goalie Coach for the 2005-06 season. Aaron returned to coach the Freeze Blue team for the 2006-2007 season while also serving as goalie coach. Aaron served as Assistant Line Coach, for the Oregon High School football team in 1993. |
